Mission 2010!

So, it's now less than 2 weeks until we invaid (in a good way) Cowes again!

We get underway on January 2nd with a carnival night at the pier in Cowes, and then we'll have our morning program from Sunday 3rd - Saturday 9th at Erehwon Point also in Cowes. This year's theme is Question Mark, so we'll be exploring some of the stories of Jesus' life as written by Mark. We'll also have the traditional serial drama, this year staring a girl named Milly who leads a double life and has to save Phillip Island from an evil genius! sounds exciting huh?

Like last year we'll be updating this blog regularly with stories of what's been going on and with some prayer points from the team.

Blessed be the name of the LORD!

Dan, Dan, the Doughnut Man to Krispy Kremes

Dearest DOUGH,

I am NUTS about you

Everytime I see you,

My eyes turn bigger than my stomach

And my stomach makes strange noises

You look so good I could eat you.....

Literally.

Your hole fits the hole in my stomach,

like we were made for each other.

Truly yours forever,

Dan the Doughnut Man

Blessed be the Name of the Lord

Well well well! What a week! There are so many blessings we have been privileged to be around, I'm not sure where to start.
Our program ended last night with one of the biggest nights ever! Two major drama productions, a bible story, memory verse, songs and of course games! That all in an hour and a half!
The most important highlight of the night was Melissa's explanation of John 3:16. It was a mini miracle! The whole lawn area seemed to go quiet, the 30 or so kids on the tarp in front leaned forward listening intently as the Gospel was presented simply and concisely. PTL (praise the Lord)
it was awesome!
After some games and chatting to parents, we gave away around 25 CDs with kids games, memory verses, songs and the Gospel message. I'm sure we raised some eyebrows as the 13 teams members gathered in open public view to express our praise to God! This was His mission, He has brought us through some tricky situations, He has drawn us so close together, He has opened doors to hearts of many families, He has created a vision of greater things to come and He has been Glorified!
I'll be facing work tonight with a heart full of intimate moments I could never express in words, examples of God's greatness that leave me speechless and a fire in the belly that I pray will intensify and spread to those I meet.
To finish, I'd like to remind our team of our first devo together.

John 2:6 - 11

6Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.[a]

7Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim.

8Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet."

They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, "Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now."

11This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him.

We have seen Jesus reveal His glory this past week, and would love to share more stories. However for the full picture maybe you need to been down at Cowes filling jars? :p
